The Role
We’re looking for a Marketing Transformation Consultant to join our growing Customer Strategy & Engagement team. This is an exciting opportunity for somebody with 2-5 years’ consulting or relevant in-house experience, who is eager to make an impact at the intersection of marketing, technology and customer experience.
As part of our project teams, you will help leading organisations modernise how they plan, deliver and measure customer engagement, collaborating with clients to design future-fit marketing operating models, enablement strategies, and capabilities that drive real business outcomes and deliver more personalised and effective customer experiences.
This a role that offers variety, challenge and the chance to learn from senior experts, while shaping the future of customer-centric marketing with some of the UK’s most ambitious and well-known brands.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the delivery of transformation programmes across marketing operating models, capability development, technology enablement and ways of working
- Applying and adapting Optima’s frameworks and methodologies to help clients scale real-time, personalised engagement that leverages AI
- Leveraging marketing automation, CRM, and personalisation platforms to unlock customer value deliver measurable results
- Crafting content strategies tailored to different stages of the customer lifecycle
- Architecting seamless, multi-channel customer journeys
- Managing day-to-day project tasks, ensuring high-quality delivery and clear communication with clients and internal teams
- Supporting with proposal development and thought leadership that showcase Optima’s expertise in marketing and customer engagement
- Building strong working relationships with stakeholders and project teams, showing confidence and professionalism in client-facing situations
- Communicating clearly and effectively, simplifying complex ideas and helping to drive understanding and adoption of new solutions
- Combining curiosity, collaboration and a can-do mindset, balancing structured thinking with a practical approach to delivery
Skills & Experience
Essential
- 2-5 years’ professional experience at a consultancy, agency or relevant industry role
- Experience in customer engagement, marketing transformation or CX roles
- Understanding of 1:1 marketing and personalisation principles
- Exposure to customer journey mapping and omnichannel engagement design
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Highly proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Able to deliver and facilitate client workshops, both digitally and in-person
Desirable
- Knowledge of MarTech architecture, including Customer Data Platforms and Decisioning Engines.
- Familiarity with platforms such as Adobe, Salesforce and Pega.
- Understanding of real-time engagement or next best action approaches.
The Team
You’ll be part of Optima’s Customer Strategy & Engagement service line; a dynamic group of strategists who help clients unlock customer value and deliver transformation and bring bold ideas and practical solutions to every engagement.
You’ll collaborate closely with colleagues across other services lines, including Growth, Delivery Office, Data Science and Data Engineering, contributing your marketing expertise to shape integrated, future-ready solutions.
Our team is based all over the UK, but every individual is aligned to one of our offices in either Edinburgh, London or Bristol.
