The Role
We’re looking for a Content and Channel Operations Consultant to join our growing Customer Strategy & Engagement team. This is an exciting opportunity for somebody with 2-4 years’ consulting or relevant in-house experience, who is eager to make an impact at the intersection of marketing, technology and customer experience.
As part of our project teams, you will help leading organisations modernise how they architect, implement and scale their content operations to work in harmony within and across customer engagement channels, which in turn drive real business outcomes and ultimately support the delivery of more personalised and effective customer experiences.
This a role that offers variety, challenge and the chance to learn from senior experts, while shaping the future of customer-centric marketing with some of the UK’s most ambitious and well-known brands.
Key Responsibilities
- Applying and adapting Optima’s frameworks and methodologies to help clients design, build and scale future-fit content and channel ecosystems that leverages AI.
- Leveraging end-to-end marketing technologies including creative tools, work management solutions, Digital Asset and Content Management systems, activation and orchestration platforms within channels to unlock customer value and deliver measurable results.
- Define and design lean, tech-enabled workflows.
- Crafting content strategies tailored to different stages of the customer lifecycle
- Architecting seamless content ecosystems and channel solutions that underpin personalised customer experiences.
- Managing day-to-day project tasks, ensuring high-quality delivery and clear communication with clients and internal teams.
- Supporting with proposal development and thought leadership that showcase Optima’s expertise in content and channel operations.
- Building strong working relationships with stakeholders and project teams, showing confidence and professionalism in client-facing situations.
- Communicating clearly and effectively, simplifying complex ideas and helping to drive understanding and adoption of new solutions.
- Combining curiosity, collaboration and a can-do mindset, balancing structured thinking with a practical approach to delivery.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- 2-4 years’ professional experience at a consultancy, agency or relevant industry role
- Experience in platforms and tools used across the customer communications production lifecycle including creative tools, work management solutions, Digital Asset and Content Management systems, activation and orchestration platforms
- Understanding of the content supply chain and how best to apply technologies efficiently and effectively.
- Understanding of information architecture best practices including metadata schemas, taxonomies, content models, content governance.
- Hands of experience of building, automating and integrating workflows within tools such as Adobe Workfront, Jira, DAM.
- Familiar with Marketing and Customer Engagement environments (ideally in financial services).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Highly proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Able to deliver and facilitate client workshops, both digitally and in-person
Desirable
- Familiarity with platforms such as Adobe, Salesforce and Pega.
- Understanding of real-time customer engagement or next best action approaches and technologies.

You’ll be part of Optima’s Customer Strategy & Engagement service line; a dynamic group of strategists who help clients unlock customer value and deliver transformation and bring bold ideas and practical solutions to every engagement.
You’ll collaborate closely with colleagues across other services lines, including Growth, Delivery Office, Data Science and Data Engineering, contributing your marketing expertise to shape integrated, future-ready solutions.
Our team is based all over the UK, but every individual is aligned to one of our offices in either Edinburgh, London and Bristol.
